چکیده
Candida albicans causes candidiasis, particularly in immunocompromised patients. Streptococcus salivarius K12 (K12) is a probiotic isolated from healthy oral cavity. The study aimed to determine the effect of on C. aggregation, biofilm formation and dimorphism. ATCC MYA-4901, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) isolate (ALC2), cancer (ALC3) were used study. All strains grown yeast peptone dextrose agar brain heart infusion agar, respectively, prior dimorphism assays. Auto-aggregation MYA-4901 ALC2 was categorised as high, while co-aggregation low presence K12. total cell count decreased significantly when co-cultured with compared monocultured (p < 0.05). Inhibition yeast-to-hyphae transition also observed In conclusion, inhibits

Lipoteichoic Acid Inhibits Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation
A biofilm is an aggregate of microorganisms in which cells adhere to biological or non-biological surfaces and is responsible for various infectious diseases. Infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, including pneumonia, endocarditis, and osteomyelitis, are often associated with colonization and biofilm formation. Although lipoteichoic acid (LTA) is involved in biofilm formation, the specifi...
متن کاملAspartate inhibits Staphylococcus aureus biofilm formation.
Biofilm formation renders Staphylococcus aureus highly resistant to conventional antibiotics and host defenses. Four D-amino acids (D-Leu, D-Met, D-Trp and D-Tyr) have been reported to be able to inhibit biofilm formation and disassemble established S. aureus biofilms. We report here for the first time that both D- and L-isoforms of aspartate (Asp) inhibited S. aureus biofilm formation on tissu...

متن کاملTryptophan inhibits biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been implicated in the pathology of chronic wounds. Both the d and l isoforms of tryptophan inhibited P. aeruginosa biofilm formation on tissue culture plates, with an equimolar ratio of d and l isoforms producing the greatest inhibitory effect. Addition of d-/l-tryptophan to existing biofilms inhibited further biofilm growth and caused partial bi...
متن کاملHha, YbaJ, and OmpA regulate Escherichia coli K12 biofilm formation and conjugation plasmids abolish motility.
Escherichia coli Hha is an environmental-response regulator of the pathogenic hemolysin operon, and Hha and the contiguous YbaJ are both induced 30-fold in E. coli biofilms (Appl. Microbiol. Biotechnol. 64:515, 2004). Here it is shown that Hha and YbaJ regulate biofilm formation since the hha/ybaJ deletion reduces biofilm mass in microtitre plates (81% in minimal medium, 50% in complex medium) ...
